It is recommended for ages 8 and up but my daughter who is 9 did have a bit of trouble with it and she's got a bit upset and I had to help her but it was fine not too hard at all. It was definitely a great product and with the same quality that you would always expect from any Lego product. The funny thing about this set is that the lighthouse had a toilet I thought I was a little out of place and didn't really fit with the theme but whatever it was still cute and me. We got a kick out of that. The big ice cream cone is the perfect size to be a treat for the Metal Beard model from set 70807.
