I was correct! The concept is simple but very versatile, and you can tweak and rebuild it easily and as often as you want. The instructions cover a wide range of different features and styles to use as examples and starting points, and from what I can see enough pieces are provided to build any of them in each of the skin & hair colours. The results are cute and the process is fun, with the scale imposing enough constraints to make it a creative challenge but allowing enough freedom to build and rebuild indefinitely. If you're looking for an inexpensive gift for a \"lapsed\" adult Lego fan that they can play with as well as displaying, but that's self-contained and versatile enough that they don't have to drag their whole collection of out of the garage, this is a great choice! I bought this Lego building kit for my autistic son's 17th birthday. It looked like a lot of fun and the whole family was looking forward to building brick figures of ourselves. Unfortunately, I found this difficult to do, as the instructions don't allow you to easily build a novel figure from beginning to end. For example, after you build the basic figure and you decide what kind of hair you'd like, you have to remove pieces And then go back to the instruction for hair and add it to the figure. Other than the examples provided in the book, there didn't seem to be a way to easily build a brick head without having to occasionally disassemble and back up. That being said, we have owned several other BrickHeadz sets (Santa, Mrs. Claus, Star Wars) And really loved them.
