One contains major kit pieces and the other contains connectors. This makes sorting through the various parts much easier. The completed kit has great detail with very nice color separation and even includes a pack of foil stickers to give it so extra flare. The kit built itself seems like it might be slightly too complex for children but Lego has done a fantastic job with the instruction manual that even young children can tackle this with relative ease with some adult supervision.You don't have to be a child to enjoy this kit though.
