Easy for him to assemble. Each bag is pre marked so you know where to find the pieces. You don't move onto the next bag until you finished the one you are currently using. Manual clearly states which bag you are on and is easy to follow. Love how it came with a lego tool to remove the thinner pieces stuck together. As a surprise, a very small few of the pieces glow in the dark. Wished the turtles stayed with Lego instead of Mega blocks.
