The rest of the parts are not very useful either. The new minifigure mould is likely the reason why the cost is high and less piece count, unlike any other impulse sets. I think it is, as it contains a minifigure that's only available in this set and two other sets (or three, counting the summer wave). It's definitely affordable for most people, and is something that you can just throw into a purchase without driving the price up too much.
