My son is 6 and still very much a novice builder. He's getting more enjoyment out of this little ornament full of bricks that from the sets that we build together! Sure he was thrilled with the gold bricks that were included, but that doesn't mean that he was disappointed in the other colors that were there. He's been sorting the blocks by color and building and rebuilding with just these brinks since it came out of his stocking on Christmas morning. I hesitated to buy because of the negative reviews, but in the end I couldn't be more thrilled with the outcome.
