It's really just an update of the earlier book and it follows the pretty standard DK formula. Perhaps the best part of it is the (as always) included minifig. This time it is Armored Jay (Stone Armor?) with face scarf and hair, with the crowning element a printed tile of his favorite Starfarer Comic Book. Younger Ninjago fans will love this. Older ones will probably find more useful info online.
