Unfortunately, that's also where the excitement turns into utter frustration. We host a weekly play date with young Lego lovers. Ages 4-7. Over the years, they have developed stamina and focus when they set their minds to a task. The boys can improvise when necessary or ask for help. But this book is unclear, even to an adult. The instructions are NOT step by step and Some of the photos aren't clear enough to know what to do next. This book implies that most of the creations can be built with brick you already own, but as most other reviewers have mentioned.MANY if not most of the builds require specialty pieces. Our boys have made a catapult, a modified version of one of the robots pictured, but MOST of the things pictured require bricks that are NOT just lying around most people's homes.
