I was so excited and thrilled for this set to come out, and I jumped on buying it. I love it, but even when I was watching the reviews before it even came out I was wondering why they picked such an unattractive bland boring color for the creative rose. I love the build of the rose, but the color choice has gotten under my skin. I think they did such a fantastic job with this set, but that color choice is the only thing knocking down one star. If they had included the red roses which I purchased multiple boxes of, then this would be a 5 star kit. That all being said, it's still an amazing steal for such a nice display kit. I am definitely interested in more flower kits, as I am sure so are many other people weather they chose orchids, lilacs, or hydrangeas I am going to buy them all.
At a higher price, I'd merely classify this set as a fun novelty. But for $50, it's cheaper than many real flower bouquets and will last significantly longer, while bringing some nerdy fun to your decor in an elegant manner. It would also be easy to expand with either the official flower sets or more flowers of your own. This set earns a hearty recommendation.
10280 Flower Bouquet is a high-quality LEGO set for a particular market, offering a build experience unlike much else from the LEGO Group; a venture into new, natural territory for the company; and for some a gift that is more than just a novelty. Intricate and smart in design, this is an involved build and a fine display model once completed.
If you like flowers, or you are looking for something new, you'll love this set. If not, you might still find things to enjoy here.
I had a great time assembling the model, there's a lot of nice parts usage to enjoy and the duplicate flowers make this a fun project to take on with a partner. If my wife's reaction is anything to go by, I think this model will have wide appeal: it's an excellent build made up of interesting parts and the subject matter will surely attract a new audience as well as fans. I hope it does, because I'd love to see the botanical collection flourish.
This set is one of the most unique sets that's been released, and certainly like nothing I've ever built before. This set will appeal to not only fans of LEGO but will engage those new fans that haven't spent as much time with the plastic brick as some of us have. Just seeing what is possible will be enough to engage new fans and excite older ones.
This is a wonderfully attractive set that demonstrates that LEGO is so much more than vehicles, buildings and minifigures. It's fun to build, contains copious quantities of rare and unique parts in bright colours, and I have no doubt that it will appeal to a new audience. It's the sort of thing that parents might buy themselves when shopping in the LEGO store with their kids.
