Today is my 5-yr-old's birthday. He loves Legos, Incredibles and his older brother. So, his older brother got him this set for his birthday and, when they woke up at 5am, they put it together and played for an hour. Basically, this is a magic set that will give parents more time to sleep.
I love the incredibles 2 so naturally it was a good edition to my collection getting all parr kids in one set. I love the mini figures in this set but the builds lacked with not enough pieces and wasn't very complete. I wish these sets were regular and not juniors it was just a bad idea for this to be juniors as more of an older audience will watch this as they probably wathced incredibles 1 as a little kid. I feel more people would have liked them to be regular sets just as I would.
The house and all of the other builds in this one are fantastic! Easily the best one of the lot, design and appearance-wise. From the sliding wall to the couch, the pool and lounge chair, the vehicle and of course that excellent slide, it's all brilliantly executed. I'm really looking forward to seeing the movie, as I want to see how these look in the film version.
This action-packed set will be a fun way for Incredibles 2 fans to build and play out a favorite scene from the new movie. They'll like seeing favorite characters in minifigure form (how cute is the little baby Jack-Jack?) and telling their own versions of the Incredibles story with this building set.
On the whole I think this is not bad. The builds are kind of bland but I think playability is good enough and the minifigures will be a big draw. I think the price is also fine as, despite the low piece count, many of the pieces are big and I think the final model is a good-enough size in relation to the price tag.
Overall, the LEGO Juniors The Great Home Escape (10761) is a great playset for the younger audience. There are a number of play features that packed into this fairly small set. The price point is spot-on with a set this size and it also includes four exclusive minifigures including the popular Jack-Jack baby mold.
Brick is a aptly named villain and has great print detail. But without seeing the movie, it's difficult to compare how well they have been translated from the source material. In fact the same could be said about the entire set. Doesn't means that's a bad thing. Don't be put off by the Juniors tag, The Great Home Escape is a decent little set, and worth picking up.
Overall, I think that – if you're not going to Bricklink the figures – this set is a must buy, as it includes three exclusive Parr family members that do not appear in any other LEGO sets at the time of writing. The builds are, as always, disappointing but these Incredibles sets are, to many fans, all about the minifigures.
