This set is great for my 2-year-old son. He's learning about putting things together and loves to play with the finished product. Putting it together is a little bit much for him yet, but in time, I'm sure he will love it like I did as a kid. Great starter kits.
My 5 and 3 year old grandchildren love this set and have a great time building and then playing with Minnie's birthday party. The LEGO Duplo pieces are perfect for the smaller children's fingers. The larger bricks are perfect for children that have less control of grip and finger mobility. The birthday party design is fun and bright. My grandson plays with the car all the time; he loves pushing it around on his train table. My granddaughter is more interested in Minnie Mouse and the birthday gifts. This is perfect set for any young Disney fan and LEGO fan. It is Minnie, but my grandson loves it just as much, since we watch Disney Jr in the house. Fun and cute!!
Minnie Mouse fans will have a lot of fun setting the scene for a birthday party for Minnie. There aren't specific building instructions. Instead, kids can use their imaginations to build however they want and tell their own bow-tastic stories for Minnie. This is all about open-ended and creative building and play.
The opinion that matters the most for this set was of the aforementioned three year old. This set was a big hit. It was easy for them to assemble, and we learned just how many different ways the 21 pieces of the set could be arranged. We celebrated many birthday parties for both Figaro and Minnie, "because kitty cats have birthdays too". We sang "Happy Birthday" countless times. For the final endorsement of the set, the three year old couldn't bear to be parted with Minnie or the car, so they came with us on several sight-seeing excursions around San Francisco.
