What's cool about this set is that each model is separate so you can easily play out a Minecraft story in a specific model, but all the models fit together to create a larger Minecraft village that looks really neat on display. This is going to be a lot of fun for Minecraft and LEGO fans who want to bring the world from the video game to life off-screen.

Tons of fun! My 7 year old grandson worked on this for 5 days before and after school. He loved this!

This was a purchase for my daughter as she is a huge mine craft fan, and let me just say how in love she is with this set. She is 4 years old and says “it's like Minecraft but real life". It's a rather large build as I hope it would be for the price. We built it over the course of a weekend. My wife and daughter did most of it. It's slowly becoming my wife's project as more and more sets are being added on. Both my wife and daughter are hooked. The Minecraft village is a must have for any Minecraft fan out there, and a definite must have for anyone looking to start their own mine craft world.

Recommendation: meh 4 / 5 by Sébastien

In summary I would say this is a far better set than I ever anticipated. It doesn't have any challenging builds so don't expect to gain any expert knowledge into new building techniques, but for kids this makes it ideal. It clearly isn't specifically designed as a display set, but it does look really good when connected together of which you can arrange in any fashion you wish. The addition of a few other biomes adds interest to the scenic element of the set and makes compatibility to other available Minecraft sets very easy. In fact, if I see some on offer I don't think I'll hesitate to buy them now to add on and expand my village. Whilst a bit on the expensive side, this set could make a very useful pieces set if you're into parting out.

My main disappointment in the set is the selection of minifigures. Although there are exclusive Villager minifigures included, I feel there could've been a few more. The main characters of Steve and Alex as well as the Zombie have been used in previous sets so swapping one of them out for another Villager would have been nice.

I wish I could give it a higher score, but I just can't. I like the brick built style, and the figures are good. But the repetition of this series is setting in. Because it's a collection of small builds assembled together, I feel like I could have bought two or three smaller sets and had a similar building experience.

Overall, me recommending this set comes with a few caveats. If you're a Minecraft fan, this sets captures the look and feel of this locale in the game really well, and it'll look great alongside your other LEGO Minecraft creations. But if you're not familiar with the game, I'm not really sure there's enough in this set that'll grab the attention of a standard AFOL. It comes with plenty of 2x2 plates with center stud pieces, and a whole lot of nougat-colored pieces. If you're in need of parts, you can do a lot worse than this set. But from a collecting standpoint, I can't really see this sitting next to something like, say, the Brick Bank on a shelf.

The set is good. While repetitive and often boring to build, the end result is fairly accurate to villages randomly scattered throughout the worlds of Minecraft. It carries a high price of $199.99 for 1600 mostly basic parts with few new parts I can't yet obtain in other sets or on Bricklink. As a casual fan of Minecraft interested in parts, I can't recommend this set if you're questioning the price, are not a hardcore fan of Minecraft, or both. It's simply not a good parts pack. However, as a playset for Minecraft's younger audience, the only barrier is cost; if the price is not an issue for you, the set is something a Minecraft fan would appreciate for its play value, authenticity, and plethora of minifigures to take on adventures.

This set will not be for everyone. That is very clear. However, for an avid LEGO Minecraft fan, looking to expand their Minecraft world, this is a must-have set. Villages are a key feature of the game and fans have been clamouring for one from the earliest days of this theme and I don't think that this set disappoints in any major way.
