I originally bought just the one set to build and I enjoyed putting it together. After seeing pictures of having the two combined together I bought a second one. I found the frame a bit confusing/tedious to work on for the joined artworks because it had you add pieces then taken them off. I just did the frames for both once they were combined. I worked on it leisurely off and on for about 2 days. Having close to $300 after taxes seems like a bit much for a complete set. I enjoyed putting it together and look forward to seeing future pieces.
Either of these sets will be perfect to display in your home gallery. We love that the instruction booklets are more than just instructions, providing information for fans and having display-quality looks themselves. The building process is time consuming, but if you're an art lover, a LEGO fan, and a Disney or Harry Potter fan, you'll really enjoy building these stunning works of art.
In summary, as with the other Art sets, Mickey fills a niche that is only likely to appeal to die-hard fans. I dread to think what it must be like to be a Warhol-loving, Beatles-listening Star Wars fan with a penchant for Harry Potter and Marvel right now, but there is no denying the finished set looks great and would be a fantastic addition to any walls in your house that might be looking a bit bare.
The set provides a pleasant and relaxing way to pass the time and an attractive end product to hang on the wall for all to admire.
31202 Disney's Mickey Mouse feels like it's played things a little too safe. It's not quite the celebration of the source material we'd hoped for when initial rumours of the set appeared online, and would have been better served by both a bolder background, and a greater variety of images to build.
