The design of the shuttle itself is excellent and the little details such as the payload bay and the Hubble Space Telescope is a nice addition. The color scheme is great and although there were stickers used, they were didn't take away from the model but added to it. One thing I didn't like about the shuttle was that the landing gears don't have a way to fold up but being a smaller set, I can see what it's not possible.
The Lego Space Shuttle is AMAZING. It's really easy to put together because there are 2 numbered bags and you go from the 1st bag (which is mainly the mainframe of the shuttle and then the "cockpit") to the 2nd bag which is the back, etc of the shuttle. The little astronaut minifig has 2 different helmets, the one on the box and then a clear visor one. The instructions are the clearest i've ever seen. The instructions also have a bunch of little facts about NASA's space program, astronauts, and the shuttles themselves after you finish putting it together.
Lego has done a good job with the Space Shuttle in my opinion. It is quite playable and swooshing it around is fun. The bay doors open and a satellite can be deployed with the Canadian Arm. I think the target audience for this set are kids. AFOLs will probably opt for the Shuttle Adventure/Expedition.
