Ordered two of these sets and both came missing the same pieces. They were not pieces that could be used in more than one build. They were specific to one design, ie, a deer tail, a snowmobile hood, etc. I called LEGO and these sets are no longer available. IF I sat down and shifted through ALL the pieces, and sent a list, LEGO would send me the pieces. That would have meant making all the creations while noting what was missing. Talk about an exercise in frustration! I had to return both sets.
This set is a free gift, and that makes it instantly a great deal and a great alternative to the $50 advent calendars. My only gripe is that Lego should emphasize that many of these pieces are reused between the little models, and unless you have spare pieces of your own, you'll have to take earlier models apart in order to build later models. While this is no big whoop if you know it going in, it's a little disappointing if you find out only once you've started building. Last year's set (40222) had a tiny little note on the instruction books that said "models cannot be built at the same time". There's no note on this year's set. Overall, well designed little models in a fun set that gives you a mini lego fix for 24 days. If you want to get to have an intact model for every day of December leading up to Christmas, def get the advent calendars. I did the Star Wars ones a few times, and they were fun to build.
