'Aira & The Song of the Wind Dragon' is an amazing set in so many ways. It'd be the perfect gift for any fantasy lover, not just a collector of Lego Elves! I bought this for my daughter's friend (11 yrs), and she was so delighted to be receiving it. Personally, I prefer Lego Friends sets better, but this one caught my eye. For one, the design is so creative and beautiful. The cloud island has a wonderful color scheme of light blues, tans, greens, and golds. My favorite part would have to be the floating cloud island. The minidolls can jump on the island and be transported through the sky! Another trait of this is that it comes with plenty of special pieces. There are 4 ombre blue-purple lighting bolts as winds, plus several musical instruments - a guitar, harp, and piano. Overall, Lego Elves sets have tons of cool pieces in all shapes and colors. (Lumia even has a wind-staff!) In summary, this is a great set that is 100% worth the money. I highly recommend it.
My granddaughters absolutely love the Lego Elves sets. They offer mystical creatures mostly not found in the rest of Lego realm, ranging from fierce dragons to adorable but mischievous bat – kitten creatures. The sets show good creativity and I love watching my granddaughters' imagination go crazy as the play with their completed sets. And when I say completed, I should mention completed in a hurry. When they get a new set in hand, they don't stop until it is finished. I hope the Lego Elves sets continue on, as my granddaughters cannot get enough of these underappreciated sets…. The girls really liked the new dragon and it's unique wings. This was one of those sets that girls liked so much I ended up having to buy two so they both could have a Wind Dragon...
There is a lot to discover in this construction set, and we're sure that it will provide LEGO Elves fans with no shortage of imaginative play. From building the set to playing out all sorts of creative and adventurous LEGO Elves stories, fans will really enjoy adding this to their collections.
The dragon is a fun part of the set, but the lack of another pair of legs or even a couple of tiny T. rex type arms, make it look odd and unfinished. The grey joints are also a little iffy looking, although their purpose is necessary, there colouring is just too contrasting to the rest of the dragon. The Music School is really, fun not only to build but thanks to the little bits of detail it contains. It would of been nice to have the base look a little more cloud like or even just use clear plates in place of white, to better give the impression of floating. However it's a great little set and will sit nicely alongside other Elves sets from previous years as well as those released this year.
Overall I chose this set because of its plethora of colors and this is its greatest appeal. There are 26 unique colors to this set, although some are only represented by a single part. Building three different models also helps keep things fresh – different types of building, creature creation, architecture and landscaping, and a small vehicle. It definitely gets a strong recommendation from this builder!
