I bought this and it was amazing it was pretty easy and I the characters were very nice
My 5 year old son is a LEGO maniac. He loves LEGOs. All LEGOs. At 159 pieces, this was a smaller set, particularly for the list price of $29.99. I normally consider a set a good deal if it runs around $10 per 100 pieces. We haven't seen the Trolls movie, but my son enjoyed the set and what he could do with that despite not having a connection to the movie tie-in.What initially intrigued my son and what he really enjoyed, was that this was his first LEGO with "paper." By paper, I mean a stiff plasticized part that forms the dome of the stage. It's a small thing, but he found it really interesting. There are three mini-figures and three set pieces, a stage, a jail and a turntable. My son played with them for a good while afterwards.I think the age designation is probably accurate at 4+. This is not one of LEGO's more challenging sets, but despite my son enjoy 800+ piece sets, he still likes the occasional quick build, and this one was satisfying and fun.

The build wasn't great. The jail building was very hap-hazard and incredibly basic, even for a 4+ set. The boat is ok, except for the terrible plastic roof which I couldn't get to stay up, 4+ year olds like to play with their sets which makes the roof even more annoying. I've built several other 4+ (juniors) sets and this is by far the worst in terms of build experience and playability.
