My family and I have always been a fan of lego! I was always searching for a particular set that my daughter and I could spend time working on together. Andrea's house was the perfect set for my six year old and I. It has 802 pieces and it comes with five figures as well as a beautiful house to build! We couldn't stop working on it once we got started! It took us a little over four house to completely finish this lego set. My daughter was challenged with it but she loved it and has already asked for another big set to do! I had to read her where a lot of the pieces were suppose to go but other than that she did a wonderful job!!! The finished product is still together and she continues to play with it and her little figures. This was a creative project for her and me as well. I will always purchase from lego!!
For a child that's looking for a house to build and play in, Andrea's Family House definitely fits the bill (build?). For the price [...], it would make a great birthday present. Considering all the new colours and parts [...], it might be worth considering as a parts packs as well.
For the target audience: this is a great build. It's the perfect mix between building on your level, and also being challenged. With all the little details and play-options this will be a popular set. Of course I also let the target audience have a look, and she was very enthusiastic. There was one issue though: The first thing she did was opening the garage door, followed by: "Where is the car?" And I have to agree on that one. I know the garage is being used as a practice room, but any form of transportation, even just a few bikes, would be nice.
With so many details, being modular, and its size -- I recommend adding this house on a street with other Friends Houses, or even Creator Modular buildings.
