This build came out great, the cargo load clicks in place. The wheels move very smooth, also do the gears. My only complaint is no construction mini-fig.
The things they can do with Legos these days. WOW! Now, this was purchased for my 6 year-old, even though it says 9 on the box. So, he tried for a little bit to do it, but needed my help. It is probably the coolest Lego set I've built to date! There are gears and belts and all pistons and drive shaft and all sorts of things in this little mining truck. It was pretty amazing when it was all finished. I did have a minor problem in that two teensy key pieces were missing, but i just dug through our Lego stash and found a couple that would work.VERY fun project!
Kids and older LEGO fans will like how realistic this truck looks and moves as they play with it. Builders will also like that they get two models in one with this set.
If you are new to Technic, 42035 will teach you some basic mechanics and a few good building techniques. Pair this set with 42023 and you'll also have yourself a great starter pack of parts to help you unlock many building and play opportunities. If you are more a experienced Technic builder you will appreciate the low cost and useful peices included in 42035, plus you'll get the unrelenting desire to update some of mis-coloured pieces and to make improvements to some of the technical details.
I think this set looks great. It is a small/medium sized Technic set at 361 parts, so doesn't come with a real lot of variety other than the new tapered panels and some of the increasingly common 3L Axle Pins.
