Lamborghini Sián FKP 37

I have been an avid lego fan for many years now. And it is especially Lego Technic that has been my main interest. I have built many of the largest and most complicated sets. I have not always been impressed with what the Lego designers have achieved. There has always seemed to be something missing, either in design or technical solutions. But with Lego Technic Sian, Lego has done everything right. The model is absolutely fantastic to look at, and all technical aspects are ingenious. The Sian is actually quite difficult to build, and is the most challenge build I have ever done. It was a really enjoyable build all the way. In addition, the packaging, video clips and instruction book have been so thoroughly made that the overall experience is really very special. If you are considering buying the set, just order it right away. You are guaranteed not to regret it. more less

42115 Lamborghini Sián FKP 37 will demand a hefty budget and a lot of prime LEGO real estate once built, but for everything that it offers, it's a set not to miss. Lamborghini are only producing 63 Lamborghini Sián FKP 37s and they have all already sold. Whilst the LEGO Group are producing a few more copies of their version, they won't hang around forever, so make sure to not miss out before it is gone in a flash of lightning. more less

So what do you do with a car like this? Put it in your garage to show off when your friends visit, or take it for a spin? I chose option 2. In the process I found that since the model doesn't have a HOG, steering is quite difficult. However, the model looks stunning and the wheel hubs are absolutely beautiful. more less

The only real issue for me, is the price. For Technic standards, without any motors, the ratio of 10 cents/part is pretty steep. This of course has several causes: The intensive design process, the new parts, the all-print and non-stickers, and the box and building instructions that are far from standard. For me personaly, I could do without the box and fancy instructions. And in terms of design: I never heard of the Sían before, so it is just another super-car for me. That makes this set too expensive for me personally. But every car-enthausiast will love this set. more less

While the very hefty $380 USD price marks an increase from the previous two supercar sets, the price-per-piece ratio still comes in about average. The play features all work well, though if you've built either of the previous two cars, you won't find much to give you new wows here. For those new to this series, however, this will be one of the most engaging builds you'll find, and the result is a mean, green, speeding machine built on the back of the Italian bull brand, all bundled up in LEGO's very best packaging. LEGO delivered another top-shelf model with this set, making use of their ability to engage people in both the construction and engineering of a model in a way that many other mediums cannot. Building it was an incredible experience for my friend, my brother, and myself, and the final product looks beautiful, inviting people to explore the many functional elements. more less

A lot of care and attention has gone into the design and production of the box, and no doubt it's added a few pounds/bucks to the price of the set. Was it worthwhile? I think so. LEGO is a premium product and Lamborghini is a premium brand. This is probably the most premium product the company is producing this year, so to me it seems right that it does something special for it. Even if you usually recycle your boxes this is one that you'll definitely want to keep and admire from time to time. more less

In my opinion, this is one of the best Technic sets ever, and definitely the best of the recent supercars. Like real Lamborghinis, it is truly a premium product and shows just what LEGO can do when there is no expense spared. more less

I'm now half-way through the build of 42115 Lamborghini Sián FKP 37 and the chassis is complete. It's taken around 5 hours and over 500 construction steps to get this far. Before I start on the bodywork, I thought it would be worthwhile taking a closer look at the way it's built and, in particular, the improvements that have been made to the gearbox and suspension compared to the last Technic supercar, 42083 Bugatti Chiron. more less
