Although the set is a fairly small promotional item, it makes a great addition to you LEGO collection. The packaging is super cool and what makes this promo stand out from other exclusive promos we've had in the past and the contents are pretty cool as well.

This is an absolute five star item if you are an enthusiast of Lego Space mini figures and sets. The included booklet is very nice, although more of a sampling than a truly complete accounting of all space-themed mini-figures and sets manufactured by Lego during the time period covered by the book. The box is very nice and appropriate for safe-keeping of the set. One curiosity of this particular mini figure is that, much like many early 1980's figures, his helmet is designed to accommodate a visor, but visors were not included until later in the 1980's, around the same time the artwork printed on the front of the torso changed from just the space logo to the two-tone design with the diagonal zipper artwork separating the two color areas. Prior to this, the helmets were more cylindrical. White was also not the most common figure color of this period, when they were most commonly blue, red or yellow, with black being also made, but even more rarely than white.

I think this is an outstanding example of how a free item should be done, and is truly my favorite promotional item that TLG has ever provided.

I am not going to give this set a rating since many of the standard criteria are not applicable here, but suffice to say I recommend this set, and if you miss out on getting one for free, it may be worth trying to pick up a copy for a few pounds on Bricklink or eBay (although prices are rather higher than that at the moment).
