Lego made one of the best sets I own. This set comes with two doctors, one nurse, one receptionist, and a few patients. The bottom floor has a sliding door, a triage area, food stand with two cupcakes and a soda, and an ambulance entrance. The second floor is a testing floor with a microscope, eye scope, and an x-ray machine. The third floor is a delivery room but can be used a regular hospital room. My only complaint is there is only one room I decided to buy a second set for more rooms. The ambulance and helicopter that comes with it is an added bonus. Buy this the 99$ price is well worth it.
This hospital is most detailed and feature packed hospital for minifigures. From reception and emergency entrances to exam, xray and nursery areas to the vehicles that provide support, this hospital not only renders the different areas with stickers (take your time and help younger builders to apply them), but there's medical equipment as well. Compact yet easy to provide play with the modular take apart features, this hospital has something for fans of all ages. This set has a minifigure count on par with the Expert modular sets, 11 + baby - and a skeleton if you want to count it, bringing the total to a potential 13, depending on how you wish to see it. Having a staff of 4 Drs/Nurses, 2 drivers/pilots and paitents of differing variety gives the imaginations a great boost. A hospital set hasn't come along with regularity like police or fire stations, if your Lego fan likes the medical field, get this set.
For a City theme set, the LEGO® City Hospital is actually a good value. City sets tend to cost more in the area of $0.16-0.17 per brick, but this one comes in at $0.13. You get an ok build-time for that price too. The hospital has a really nice, modern looking design as well, but its real strength is the number and variety of Minifigures that come in it. They are generic townsfolk, and not the hyper-detailed characters you get in some licensed themes, but every city needs normal folks to populate it too! I like this set a lot, and will stay true to the spirit of it as I redesign it to fit into my own LEGO® City. I recommend the LEGO® City Hospital to anyone looking to expand their own town. All full price, its a good buy, but waiting for a sale will make it even better.
It's fun to assemble, fun to play with and as an extra bonus - it can be a great way to introduce kids to hospitals if they or a loved one ever needs to go there. I hope they don't!
No set is perfect, but some LEGO sets are much more anticipated by builders and fans than others. LEGO City 60204 City Hospital re-introduces a long-awaited sub-theme and will be the very first medical centre for a whole generation of younger fans. And I'm really happy for the kids getting this set; it's a truly beautiful hospital carrying as much play value as you can imagine. But unfortunately this isn't a set for adult fans and experienced builders. It's full of flaws that grown-ups won't be able to ignore, although the minifigures and the ambulance will become a perfect addition to any custom city layout.
This is a magnificent set. The hospital looks brilliant from the exterior and includes tremendous interior detail, exceeding even the high standard set by 41318 Heartlake Hospital last year. It would have been nice to see a ward area or a proper reception desk in the foyer but I think the exclusion of such features is justified as creating a larger set would inevitably result in a higher price and I think the existing cost of £69.99 or $99.99 is ideal.
