This is a really, really cool Lego set. While I generally am drawn toward the more whimsical, sci-fi builds, this has something I've never personally encountered in a Lego kit before: a magnet. It does really add to the ability of kids to play out the robbery and rescue. Oh, and the helicopter has both the main and tail rotors?? (I may not be using the correct term, but y'all know what I mean). You really can't just rave enough about how easy Lego makes building (not to say they're not challenging). By making the instructions all visual. it really transcends any and all language/reading barriers. As a mom of 2 kids who aren't quite like everyone else, that is really a cool and rare thing. I love this company so much.
My 5-year-old son eagerly anticipated this set. He waited days for the post office to deliver it. He told everyone about it. It finally came, and while he had fun and was able to build it independently, no one in our house could get it to fly the way the video and ads demonstrated. He was really bummed. I hurt my hand trying to pull the cord fast enough. I'm sure based on the above reviews, Lego will reply and say I should watch the video for tips and tricks. I did. Still failure to launch. Buyer beware and let your kids know to lower their expectations.
