Street Sweeper

This little vehicle is packed with fun! I ordered it on a whim as it just looked so darn cute and we all like clean streets, right? The best thing about this item is the way it works--the "whoosh-y" bits up front work in the most simple yet ingenious way and the side brushes work as you roll along also. This would be a great addition to anyone's City or just a fun little thing to keep your desk clean... Some people may think LEGO is expensive, but it's all in the details and quality. more less

This set is great for those building their own city. I continue to be impressed with the level of simple detail provided in the entire CITY line, and this Street Sweeper is no exception. It's got a couple rarely used (if ever) pieces--the sweeping rollers. They and the front pieces turn when you push the truck along, so it is action packed. The minifigure driver is cute with his little ballcap. Of course, the banana is huge, but still cute. A very playable set, especially if you use the sweeper to clean up and store extra pieces. For ten bucks (at the time of review), you can't beat this set. It took me about 10-11 minutes to build the set.I would give this set five stars, but the shipping was so inadequate (see attached picture). Not that it's a collector's item, but it certainly was not "new in box"... Amazon really needs to figure this out because LEGO fans are not going to be pleased with their sets getting smashed in "padded envelopes". more less

Street Sweeper is an inexpensive little set, but it is not a particularly good value. You certainly do not get much build time. However, what it does not offer in overall value it makes up for in design as well as the Minifigure and accessories that come with it. more less

The Street Sweeper is a neat little set. I like it's compact size and the overall shape is perfect compared to the real world vehicle, it's inspired by. The way the brushes move just by pushing it along is a great play feature. It's also nice to have a LEGO City set which is something different from the normal police cars and fire engines. more less

A LEGO City layout is brought to life by all of the little touches that are added around the main feature buildings. 60249 Street Sweeper is a set that will do just that — once again, a rather mundane vehicle has provided the inspiration for a delightful little LEGO set. more less

Compared to the LEGO Group's past efforts, I feel that this is their best street sweeper to date. It draws inspiration from the past to create a more visually appealing and functional model, which is perfect for kids and us “big kids" alike. When it comes to part selection, though, the street sweeper isn't doing itself any favors. For those looking for sets to part out into their collections, this set probably isn't worth purchasing. However, if you want a reasonably priced LEGO City set that is fun to build and play with, the street sweeper delivers and should be right up your alley. more less
