This lego skate park is great. My son received it for his 9th birthday. He built it in a pretty short time and he kept it set up for a while. The plate and little lego people are great and they especially love the skate board. The little wheel chair is great also as it adds diversity for my children to learn about children with disabilities. Thanks for including it.
As an AFOL, I have to acknowledge that there are a few new additions that will possibly be of interest to a subsection of the hobby who are interested in things appearing in new colours - of which there are a few that you don't need to be eagle-eyed to spot. It is not the cheapest (or most efficient) way to buy into the new road plate system, so if you are hoping for a route into the new pieces, I would suggest looking for other roads.
It's great to see LEGO being more representative with their minifigures, and the daredevil wheelchair user is definitely a highlight of the set here. It is aimed at the 5+ age bracket and I feel the pricing is about right here - £24.99 / $29.99 / 29.99€ for 195 parts.
The set suffers from being a glorified Minifigure Pack, but that's because I'm not really into minifigures. There's really nothing to build beyond the truck, and I buy LEGO to build things. That being said, what you do build, judging by my kids anyway, is tons of fun after being built.
I like the new road plates. I do prefer a brick-built solution over the older thin base plates. Am I in love with new system? Not yet, and that's because I am not fond of the way how the roads are connected to the buildings. And the new system lacks a sidewalk, which I really mis. A sidewalk provides so many ways to make your town or city more realistic. This isn't a huge disaster, since a sidewalk can easily be added. But I was hoping that TLG provides a solution out-of-the-box.
