Wow my 10 year old granddaughter built this city although it took hours it provided hours of fun for her. It takes a lot of patience and many many breaks. I would recommend this city actually for adults as well as children . Many very small pieces.
As a whole the set offers a lot of play value, and it's certainly been interesting to see how the road plates work together to create a more cohesive feel to what can often feel like a set made up of entirely disconnected mini builds. I understand that for many AFOLs they may not be a suitable replacement for traditional baseplates, and would especially require additional effort to integrate into a street of modular buildings, but they seem very well-designed to fit into the usual style of builds found in the City range and I hope that we see more variety in the prints and designs available in future as they expand the system.
I liked this set and I like the road plates, but I if you're an adult builder there's probably not much here for you that you can't get cheaper in other sets.
I like the new road plates. I do prefer a brick-built solution over the older thin base plates. Am I in love with new system? Not yet, and that's because I am not fond of the way how the roads are connected to the buildings. And the new system lacks a sidewalk, which I really mis. A sidewalk provides so many ways to make your town or city more realistic. This isn't a huge disaster, since a sidewalk can easily be added. But I was hoping that TLG provides a solution out-of-the-box.
