My 8-year old kid wanted this toy for his birthday and I can honestly say it occupied him for the entire time it took him to assemble it. Then it was re-assembled by his younger brother, and now it has become a parts bin for the group in their creative assembly factory. While educational value is nothing more than an ability to follow instructions, fun factor and creativity booster rate are great. For the price, I believe it is a great toy. It also can be a great tool for improving motor-sensory skills for some kids as parts are rather small and require more accuracy during assembly.

Overall, Stringer comes with all the ups and downsides of previous Heroes, plus some new points for both sides. He's far from spectacular, but for some reason, Stringer always manages to look good, if not one of the best of his wave.
