Not a terribly exciting build, but at 9.99 it was a good value. This was my first Chima product and I got it for the parts, rather than an interest in the line. The minifig is quite nice and I think I will buy more of these. The element that has the beast's face is the only one painted on (aside from the fig), as it comes with stickers. If you are considering getting it as a gift, you should know it comes in a very small box. =)
Overall, I was happy with getting this set and I can't wait to see what I can utilize all its parts for. The term “part pack" keeps coming up in my mind and that's what this really is, a quick fun little build, but a pretty awesome easily accessible parts pack. I can see a lot of people getting multiples of these set. I know I'd like to.
The Lion has articulated limbs, paws, and head. Plus, his mouth opens and closes. The Laval minifigure comes with the CHI-powered Royal Valious sword and translucent CHI shield.
Overall, I really like how this set came together. It's got some great parts, and at only $10 for 120 of them, presents you with a good value too. On top of that, you get one of the main characters of the series. It all makes for a compelling package, and definitely has my recommendation.
Like the other four beasts, this is a superb set: great design, great parts and great to play with.
