I love this set. I got it for my birthday about a year ago. All the interactive features and details make it amazing. It truly is worth the money. My favorite part is the swinging saw blade. If this wasn't retired now, I would buy more for Nexo Knight Fans.
Because the playset has two sides, there are so many options for imaginative play. Not only will your Nexo Knights have to storm the volcano gates to get to Jestro, but they'll also need to find a way inside and encounter some of the evil entertainer's henchmen as they put a stop to his plans. With a whopping 1,186 pieces, it's hard to get into all of it. There are lots of weapons, balls, missile shooters, and other great accessories, such as the Book of Destruction and Book of Revenge spellbooks.
I cannot recommend this set highly enough! A massive and sturdy playset, easily measuring a foot or more in both height and length when fully assembled. Beautifully designed, with black, crimson and transparent orange bricks giving the set the appearance of an animated volcano brought to life. Many really fun features as well, including the spinning lava beast at the castle's base, a collapsing walkway and breakaway prison and library walls add an awesome touch. This is definitely a set that you should seriously consider, whether or not you happen to be a fan of the Nexo Knights line or cartoon series because the piece is versatile enough to function in any fantasy or castle-based theme. The set also comes with multiple vehicles for the knights, 8 minifigures and a little Book of Monsters which is super-cool. Don't let this set get away!
I'll outright say that 70323 Jestro's Volcano Lair is spectacular. I'm usually a bit biased when LEGO makes location-based sets rather than their typical repetitive vehicles, but this is one of the best. All of the details are great, like the lava flow and masonry bricks. The color scheme is also nice and appropriate. As well, there are plenty of amazing play features and minifigures (a few being exclusive) which both allow tons of roleplaying opportunities.
