Green Ninja Mech Dragon

After building it and staring and swooshing it around for a bit, longer than I should, I will definitively say that The LEGO Ninjago Movie Green Ninja Mech Dragon (70612) is the best dragon set that LEGO has made so far. Although it is a technically a mech, you can't really tell when looking at it from far away. As I mentioned before, the organic look of it combined with all the sand green and pearl-gold parts is what makes this dragon stand out from other Ninjago dragons that LEGO has made. more less

This set is really phenomenal with one flaw I was expecting, it's not very posable. The tail is free swinging, the middle body joint is restricted to stay in a straight position, and the neck/head each only have on axis of motion.That being said, it looks really awesome and the build is great fun and the minifigure selection is fantastic if you're a Ninjago Movie fan not looking to buy every set.At the end of the day, it's still a dragon, and that's pretty cool. more less

It was a fun build, but it was kind-of a fast one. I wish it was a little bit longer. Pros: - It is super fun to build. - Its tail function is super cool! - I think the rocket jets on its back looks awesome and they give it a more mech-dragony feel. -Lots of cool looking stickers and pieces. Cons: -There could be more flexibility in the head. -There could also be more detail in the shark-man. All in all it was a great build and it is super playable. The minifigures in this set are pretty good. Unfortunately two of them are CMFs, but Garmadon is great and this is still a good set to get three main characters. Play value isn't super high but it's there and it's fun to fly the dragon or pose it in various ways. The build itself is absolutely stunning! From some angles the head looks too big but generally it's fine and has great flows to it. more less

I enjoyed the film; I enjoyed this build, and despite its shortcomings compared to the actual movie vehicle, it is a great model to look at, pose, hold and swoosh. The pose-ability is nifty, with click joints at the hips preventing unwanted slippage. more less

This is a fairly simple build to flesh out and for fans it's a fun one thanks in large part to the design of this particular dragon and the storyline revolving around the characters. more less

It's got a lot of nice things going for it and I would have given it a five out of five, but that tail knocks it down a peg. It's still totally worth picking up at full price though, $49.99 MSRP. That price isn't outrageous and you get a lot of value for what you pay. But if you can get it on sale, even better! more less

Something that is desirable to children is clearly what LEGO designers are going for and in that regard 70612 has a lot to offer. A solid assortment of minifigures, including the main bad guy himself, provide a lot of play value right out of the box. For AFOLs though, I would recommend this set only to those who have collected and enjoyed past dragons. With a variety of other more solid sets in the lineup, those precious pay cheques would be better spent elsewhere, as 70612 Greeen Ninja Mech Dragon does not stand out in The LEGO NINJAGO Movie lineup. more less

This set is near-perfect. Almost every section is rife with details and no stone appears to have been left unturned. I particularly like the details in the head, as stated earlier, despite the couple pre-molded parts used for features that would indeed be harder to replicate using bricks. The body sections are also full of articulation, allowing you to pose in almost any way. Of course, there are some restrictions but they do not detract from the set at all. more less

A lot of great details on the model. This is a very swooshable model and the play value should be high for the ‘kids' out there. On top of that it makes a lovely display model and mine is joining some of my other favorites on the shelf of dragons. All in all, a great set. Even as a parts pack, this one wouldn't disappoint. more less

While I would have preferred a more balanced-looking dragon, the Green Mech Dragon glides his way into my top five LEGO dragons, and my top spot for Ninjago dragons. At $49.99 for 544 pieces, it's right on point for price and is an especially good deal for stocking up on sand green and warm gold parts. more less
