Great mech! Huge amount of bulk to this one, like there should be. No knee joints but then its so chunky it'd barely stay upright if it did have them. Its arms have limited posability and movement due to its armour, BUT Impressive, great style, very nice to display too. More mechs like this please, but with a bit more agility.
Mechs do not get everyone's juices flowing. My advice to anyone thinking about this set is this – trust your first impression. If you saw Garma Mecha Man and immediately though it looked awesome you will not be disappointed. Unlike numerous past mechs, 70613 is not undermined by some flaw only revealed upon building. Conversely, if your first thought was that such a model is not your thing, I highly doubt 70613 will win you over. It is a mech designed for lovers of mechs, and in that role Garma Mecha Man succeeds gloriously.
It's a solid set with nice detailing, but the lack of poseability and questionable functions make it not one of the best Ninjago Movie sets. I'd say to buy this only if you are an avid collector of Ninjago, love the character of Garmadon, or are impatient and want to get ahold of any Ninjago Movie set before official release.
As I mentioned before, I really liked The LEGO Ninjago Movie Fire Mech (70613) but the Garma Mecha Man (70613) doesn't do it for me personally as the Fire Mech did. The head is somewhat awkward looking and is very floppy due to it only being held on by a pin. The arms are decent but has fairly limited play features. I do like the look of the legs but the feet look rather flat.
So… that's it? Yikes… not exactly a great set. Subpar figures and subpar builds, weak playability and rather bad price. This is one of the weakest LEGO Ninjago Movie sets, though perhaps it is because of how good the theme's sets are as a whole.
70613 Garma Mecha Man has definitely surpassed my expectations but is not among my favourite sets from The LEGO NINJAGO Movie. The stocky design looks great and I like the combination of black, dark bluish grey and pearl dark grey which dominates the model as this is perfect for Garmadon. The articulation is also surprisingly impressive based upon the bulky design of the model and the absence of knee joints is less important here than it is on 70615 Fire Mech where the legs are much longer.
