Very easy to put together. trying to get all the hands of time sets. cool looking Kai. plus you can add it this to other sets.
Bought this for an 8, almost 9 year old boy. I think his 6 year old sister could have put it together faster than him, so I cannot guage the time it takes to put together. Once put together, he loved it and is now on his shelf. This one to appears to be one of his favorites because he shows this one first in his collection.
It's better than most army building sets but I wish there is 1 more minifigure & less fluff to make it a better army builder / army pack.
I feel this set provides great value for money, as it has 3 minifigures, all of which are very detailed. In addition, the tree stump looks good and has a fun play feature. You can afford to miss this if you collect larger Ninjago sets, but if you want a great Ninjago “starter set", this is it. It can also connect to Dawn of Iron Doom, though, so that may be another reason to get it.
It is unusual to see so many minifigures included in such a tiny set and these alone provide a great deal of play value. I therefore think this would be a great gift for a younger fan of NINJAGO but the larger sets in this wave offer more of interest for adult collectors in my opinion.
While the set is a tad high on the price-to-parts ratio, it's nevertheless an excellent buy. The pieces are highly useful in other applications, and the set itself is well designed and fun. However, the minifigures stand out — particularly Slackjaw, who is a particularly awesome figure to get in a set this small. If you're curious about the new Ninjago lineup, this set is a great way to see some of the new elements and characters.
