Took about 10 days to build. Not overly hard nor easy. Very relaxing build. The stickers did drive me crazy, but I did get over it. Great value for the money as compared to Star War Lego sets. Look forward to more Ninjago sets in the future.

This set has a lot to offer- a good selection of minifigures, a variety of fun and creative building techniques, a gloriously diverse inventory of parts, and a very unique final product. The final result looks good, but like I mentioned above, parts of this set feel incomplete. While it has a beautiful dock area, I can't help but feel like certain areas (such as the stairways that wake you to a second level, or the balcony off of the tearoom that is really meant to connect to further sidewalk) are screaming for connection with Ninjago City. Plus, this set isn't exactly a looker from the sides, and I really hope that in time we get further additions to this lineup.

There is so much detail, and so many accessories in this LEGO set. Ninjago fans will love building this set and will spend countless hours playing with it.

Even though it clocks in at $270 in Canada, Ninjago City Docks is a great value in terms of both bricks, build time, and play time. From an AFOL perspective, it is a nice display piece, and I had days of fun photographing it (with probably more days yet to come). As a set, it is not as inspiring as Ninjago City that came before it, and it also suffers from a low brick-to-fig ratio (though that is not uncommon in large sets). You do get 13 nicely design characters though. I do recommend this set, even at full price.

Well, basically, if you have Ninjago City-- which is fantastic for people into the Creator Expert Modulars-- you need this to really complete it. (Ok, you also need Destiny's Bounty). Not as big, not as cool, not as intriguing as Ninjago City, so only 4 stars. Plus, it was missing a brick, but it is behind the ladder and not so noticeable. Doubt I'll ask Lego for a replacement, but they are very good about such things. I do hope they come out with more like these.

I didn't think there was much that could make me love Ninjago City more, but this set does. Now, instead of being a very cool one-off set, Ninjago City is officially a theme. The Docks have pin holes on both ends, and this theme is just waiting to be expanded upon further. This set is stuffed with details from the layered water to the multitude of roof designs and everything in between. And with over 3,500 pieces for only $230, it's a phenomenal deal.

70657 NINJAGO City Docks contains 3553 pieces but is still a great deal smaller than its predecessor. Equalling the exceptional standard of 70620 NINJAGO City must therefore have presented an almost insurmountable challenge. Personally, I am delighted with this set! Not only does it include incredible detail but the model offers considerable play value, containing plenty of hidden passageways and an array of different rooms to explore.

It's a great build, with interesting techniques (still in awe of the spade roof!), a great display model, a great source for some fun minifigures, and most importantly for a toy it's fun to play with. My kids absolutely love this set. They loved building it with me and they haven't stopped playing with it for two weeks since we finished the build. I can't recommend this set enough.

The building experience is an important aspect of any LEGO set but larger models like this one inspire particularly high expectations. 70657 NINJAGO City Docks does not disappoint, including a wonderful selection of unusual techniques and some rare pieces. There are similarities to 70620 NINJAGO City which may disappoint some fans, although that seems inevitable as the two sets have been designed to connect. The minifigure selection is also very impressive, including a sufficient number to adequately populate the docks as well as several popular characters from the animated series.
