This is, overall, a great set. However, there are a few flaws; such as the back and side view of the Titan. It looks bad from every angle except for the front. Take a look at the 360 view and you'll see how awkward it looks from the side and back. The front looks amazing though, which makes up for the other sides. This is my major issue with the set, but I also think it should be $10 cheaper. The size is pretty good, and the figures included are great, but I just don't feel like you're getting a $50 value from the set. There's not much you can do with the set in terms of action features either, but I'm not one to care about those. I'd say this set is more for the older kids as it has a more serious design and doesn't really have much play value. Also, how does it fit into the new wave of Ninjago sets? I don't watch the show or anything, but it seems out of place. Despite my issues, I enjoy the set and I'd recommend it for ages 10+
This set is the bomb! It was fun to build, it has great pose ability, and AMAZING play ability! I love the details, building techniques, play features, and clever part usages! If you are only slightly considering getting this set then go ahead and get it! You will regret it if you don't when its retired!
Ninjago fans and LEGO builders will enjoy this set. The Oni Titan is impressive, and the mini-figures, as always, look great.
Overall, this set has very pleasantly surprised me. I like the build more than I expected to, and the minifigure selection, while their exclusivity is an issue, are otherwise quite good. Playability is alright, though perhaps it would have been nice to get a little side build or something for the Oni Titan to destroy. The price is a little bit on the high end of ‘reasonable' but I'm personally fine with it.
I had high expectations for 70658 Oni Titan and am definitely satisfied with the resultant model. Not only does it look marvellous on display but the set includes several interesting play features and feels sturdy. I particularly like the olive green highlights and the model's organic design distinguishes it from past mechs and large-scale figures of a similar size.
I'm a fan of LEGO mechs anyway so I was looking forward to building this set and it didn't disappoint. I love that the point of articulation result in so epic poses and that these joints are nice and stable. One of the disappointing things about Kai's Fire Mech from The LEGO NINJAGO Movie sets, was the weakness of joints and lack of posing. The use of parts, especially on the lower section of the Titan is very clever as is the connection of the swords to the hands. Sure the back of the Titan is a little ugly but the rest of the set is really impressive. The Minifigures included are a nice selection, with Harumi and Lloyd being my favourite of the line-up. All in all this is a great set, fun to build, nice play features and decent Minifigures.
