Crater Creeper

I'm actually surprised at how much I like this set; there's really a lot to enjoy here. The printing on the minifigs is really lovely, and Chuck is a worthy leader of the green team with his debonair smirk and battle-hardened features. The parts selection is pretty good, especially if you're drawn into this theme from others, and the build is superbly enjoyable. Both contraptions can be swooshed to great effect and having two opposing vehicles in one set allows for instant scenario play. It's clear they've thought about the play features, and they haven't just used a few flick fire missiles (although they're still there for the die hard fans), but it would have been even better still if the legs had been better articulated. more less

This is a great LEGO set from the Galaxy Squad line. Honestly, I don't think that line-up had a bad set in it, and I believe that this set completed my son's collection of that line. My 7-year-old son finished building the set in about 25 minutes and only needed assistance with the decal application. He is needing less and less help with LEGO sets, and that is fine by me. (As much as I enjoy helping him build his LEGO sets, I also enjoy him growing in independence and carefully following instructions - something many kids DO NOT WANT to do.) I would definitely recommend this set to other kids or their parents. more less

I have always liked building insects and bugs (in fact my model for the building challenge on the Inside Tour was an ant) so I have a soft-spot for models such as this. There isn't a lot of playability, or movement, but it's a good display piece. As with all Galaxy Squad sets, the minifigs are great and perhaps the best aliens LEGO has made to date. more less

Since this is a retired set from a retired theme, collectibility is pretty high. It'd be worth having in the collection for the parts too, even if it wasn't built and on display. Value for money is pretty good in this case too. more less
