I believe this set is one of the most detailed sets in the Ninjago line. This set comes with a lot of new or recolored pieces I didn't have before. The one thing I REALLY like about this set is the catapult in the back. That thing is AMAZING. It really works and I swear, I've had it for 2 days and I've already used A TON. One thing I don't like about this set is the action features. Really, the catapult on the back and the stud shooters on the side (which are pretty much useless because they are angled upward) are the only play features. This thing does have a lot of play value though. One more thing is (this may be just me) but the instructions were a little bit confusing. Pros: Very detailed Lots of details lots of new (or recolored) pieces I didn't have before Catapult on the back Play value Cons: Not very many action features Stud shooters on the side are angled up to far to use The instructions were kinda hard to understand
My son loves this LEGO set. The Zane figure that come with it is very cool looking. and the Chain cycle has little chain balls that it can toss. This leads to lots of battle between Wrayth and other Legos...
The spikes and ghost flame elements of the cycle make it clear that it's as threatening as it's driver, and gives Ninjago fans a great vehicle for playing or staging ninja vs. ghost army battles.
Overall, I think this set is quite nice. The builds are good – the Chain Cycle is really awesome! However, the minifigure selection isn't the best – two Airjitzu figures and one generic one… uhh. Playability is reasonable, but price is a little high in the U.S., Australia, and New Zealand.
I'm a pretty big fan of this set. As far as the smaller summer models go, I think this is the clear standout. (I would also say best Ghost vehicle, but it's the only wheeled ghost vehicle that's not a boat or dragon.) The color scheme is epic, and this also means you get a lot of blades in new colors. The figs are also a nice representation of the Ninjas and Ghosts, even if they're not exactly exclusive.
