My son recently found this series online and fell in love with the story. He is an avid LEGO builder, so I went to Amazon and was fortunate enough to find many characters, one of which was this one, The 'Protector of Stone'. He's only 5 years old and was able to easily follow the instructions and build these characters, not to say that the Lego character is simple, it's the opposite with a lot of details and thought put into the toy. He loves this toy and all the other Bionicle characters he's received over the past few months. As an adult, I think the details are awesome and really enjoy watching my son build these and his excitement as he completes each set. The characters are articulated and you can actually play with them. They're not just for show. Great Buy!

This is a rather medium-sized set for the new BIONICLE wave for Lego. Costing around $10, it's not exactly worth the price, although, one could consider the amount of pieces it has and medium size as a good deal. Overall an easy set for beginners just new to the Lego CCBS system for action figures. It consists of good flexibility, sturdy pieces, and overall a good build that would satisfy any kid who is about 7-12. A con would be that the blaster pellets can be easily lost due to their tiny size. Although it comes with six extra pellets, you still should be careful about it. Overall, good set. In terms of play-ability, it's a pretty cool set. However, if you want the full experience, I would recommend getting some of the other sets, like the other protectors as allies or for them to face off against the villain, Lord of the Skull Spiders.

The new LEGO Bionicle game has a rich storyline and these buildable figures are sure to inspire some epic open-ended play. We also liked the strong build of these figures. Once put together this figure stays together—and that means kids can roleplay and manipulate the figure every which way without the disappointment of it falling apart on them.

Overall, the Protector of Stone is one of my favorites from the Protectors. I'm really liking the color scheme although many are going to hate it, and the recolors you can get from the set are quite nice. His weapon is one of the best looking, and he poses quite well with it. If I had to give complaints, the lack of back armor is a bit disappointing, but again you have to wonder what part of the set that we got would be cut otherwise to give him that missing element.

The Protector of Stone is a nifty little set that enhances the new Bionicle theme. He compliments the upcoming Pohatu set as another brown character and as another villager on the island. While story components are still roughly shrouded in mystery, the set itself is engaging enough. The conflict adds to its value and to ones collection, as amassing an army of Skull Spiders is only inevitable. The new pieces are a welcome addition to any collection. The overall set will be great to have standing next to the other heroes when all collected on display. And most importantly: we have Bionicle back!

If you're going to get a Protector set, you might as well get this one. It's got it's downsides to be sure, but the Elemental Sandstorm Blaster is phenomenal. Seriously, I can think of a few Toa who might be better off trading their weapons for his.

The Protectors may be small, but they often make up for it with heart and wit. In this case, the Protector of Stone remains remarkable poker-faced about the whole situation. He knows his body design is boring (and even annoying at times), but he also knows that he has a super cool weapon and a striking color scheme, and so is content with that. If you're looking for a shelf-warmer, he's probably not your guy. But there's some silver lining beyond his yawn-inducing silver parts, and his actionability make him a set worth picking up.
