It was a really fun set to build although it didn't make any sense what was going on. There were also some things that I didn't like about it. One was the grey Technic gears due it them “not matching" the other colors of the set. The other thing I didn't like that much was the catapult. It doesn't shoot as well as intended. Maybe younger kids will have more luck with it. Overall, the set delivers, not only with all the pieces you get but also with the idea of the set that the designers came up with. It just works for me and I think it will work for anyone.
Love the Lego Movie. This set has some very vibrant and dare I say, more girly colors, compared to the other Lego Movie sets and most other Lego sets which is predominately geared towards boys. For the price, this set includes 3 mini figures and Unikitty and the snail and Cloud Cuckoo Land. The set is so colorful, and I just love the flower catapult that comes with it.
This set feels every inch of a $20 set. Small, somewhat basic, but still does a whole lot for value in unique ways. It's in the unique nature of stuff more than the piece count, in colors, shapes, and minifig hoods.
This building set is a fun way for fans of The LEGO Movie to build and play out favorite scenes from the movie or imagine all-new adventures for the LEGO characters.
This is a difficult set to review because without seeing the film, which no doubt explains what it is and why the protagonist characters are being chased through it, it's just a weird, whacky and nonsensical structure that could be straight out of a child's head. If that's what the designers intended, they've totally succeeded.
The Cloud Cuckoo Palace is an unusual and striking set. The model is really quite lovely, and the parts selection is tremendous for anybody that likes fun colors. The minifigures included are nice too, especially the Emmet with better Emmet face and complete Wyldstyle with hair and hoodie neck-piece in a cheap set. I'd recommend you pick this one up. It's worth it!
I don't have anything else to say about this set other than it's weird and colourfull and you will either love it or hate it.
Value is extremely subjective when it comes to LEGO but Cloud Cuckoo Palace felt like a whole lot of LEGO for a very comfortable price point. A great selection of elements makes this set an awesome buy even if you're just in it for the parts and in-demand minifigures like Unikitty.
While this is a really cool set, as I mentioned in the video I would probably not purchase it myself. It has a nice piece count and a wide variety of colors. If you want a nice color spectrum or some new minifigs this is the set for you.
Overall this set feels more like a display model to me, but a very entertaining one. I'm tempted to keep this model on show just to see the reactions of my Muggle friends who will probably coo over it whilst complaining LEGO isn't like it used to be when they were kids.
