This is a 2-in-1 set where you can build either the Triple-Decker Couch or the Couch Mech but not both at once. The size of the set on the box is quite accurate to the size of the actual builds. Both builds are very accurate to the movie and are enjoyable to put together. The Triple-Decker Couch uses about half of the pieces included in the set. I think it has a lot more display value than play value. You can have 6 minifigures on the couch itself with maybe 4 hanging off the ladder. (see photos). The Mech uses all of pieces. The poseability is good although It's arms are quite fragile on the joints and the claws have a habit of falling off easily. The only really disappointing thing about the Mech is that you can't sit a minifigure on the bottom section of the couch. The characters included in the set are great, Emmet is good as usual, Sweet Mayhem comes with her hair as well as helmet and I love Rampage Kitty. It's a very creative use of a brush piece, it should be noted that it doesn't spin like the box implies. Highly recommend for any LEGO movie fan, young or old.

Overall I prefer the Triple Decker Couch part of the build more than the mech. The minifigure/minidoll selection is decent and is one of a few sets that has a combination of them which is a first for LEGO to do.

If you're considering this set for a child, we'd give it a thumbs up for sure. Poseability equals playability and there is plenty of that. A secondary build with lots of extra pieces sparks imagination and encourages longer playtime. Also, the wonderful thing about The LEGO Movie 2 is that it merges worlds. In the Systar System, minifigures and minidolls can play together and girls are kick-butt rockstars too. This set, along with others in the line, reminds kids (and all of us) to be open-minded in more ways than one.
