For my first Lego set from the Lego Batman Movie, this was a very good choice. The build itself isn't too simple or too complicated, and the end result is a great model; I'm a huge fan of classic cars so its great to have a Lego car in such a style! As usual with Batman sets, the minifigures don't disappoint, either! The new Batman figure with the new utility belt piece is a nice update of the original, and this version of The Penguin is the best one yet in my opinion. If you're a Lego Batman fan of any kind, I definitely recommend this set!
In short, this is one of the nicest cars I have put together in the last couple of years. It has a certain stately air to it, even if it feels a little out of proportion with the minifigure. The penguin figure appears suitably angry.
This set, like all of the Batman Movie sets is really great. The designers for this line really have done a fantastic job of packing in a lot of play ability with hidden surprises, all the while making the sturdy and sleek looking. The set look fantastic when assembled and the Penguin mini-fig is great. If you are a Lego Batman Movie fan, I highly recommend picking up this set!PS. I initially had to return this set and get another because it came with two #1 bags and no #2 back, which has never happened in any of my Lego purchases. I would not let a simple factory error influence the review of a great product, I had just never had it happen before and thought it was worth mentioning. The return with Amazon was simple and painless.
As I mentioned earlier, in terms of the design of the car and the inclusion of the Penguin Minifig, this is my favorite LEGO Batman Movie set so far. It comes at an ok price in terms of brick count and build time, and it has a decent brick-to-fig ratio. You get a Batman Minifig with a fun facial expression, but otherwise he is probably the same as many of the other Batmans in the theme. I will keep the car exactly as is, I really love it. The only thing I would really change is Penguin's escape pod. I recommend this set.
Outstanding design, with great use of curve bricks. I like the structure of it very much, the car is very nice for display.
This is a confusing set to try and rate. I usually try to look at figures as the thing that pushes a good set to great (or vice versa), not as the purpose of the set. Here, they're what really seem to drag down the set. The car itself isn't bad, it's just really big.
All in all, this is an okay set. I'd say it's perhaps slightly better than the Riddler Riddle Racer, but not by much. The car seems a little small for the price, and the inclusion of just two minifigures is very disappointing. Playability isn't too high as well. Fortunately, the quality of the car here is much better than the Riddle Racer's.
As I mentioned before, there wasn't any non-leaked official images of The Penguin Arctic Roller (70911) so it was pretty exciting to see it in person when I received the set a few days ago. The minifigures are decent although I wish there was at least another one, perhaps a henchman. The build itself is pretty straight-forward and as I said before, I like the overall design of it although the front headlights may be a little too much for some.
The design alone of this stylized road coach is enough to recommend it. The Penguin has always been a laughably eccentric villain, but this car gives him class. There may be only two minifigures, but the Penguin's new accessories make him a must-have — even if you're not big on comic book characters, you're sure to find other uses for the elements. Most of the playability in the set comes from the fact that it has wheels and rolls, and the Penguin's scooter doesn't add much, but we think you won't care. This car exudes villainy and cool just sitting there, and is sure to be a favorite.
I think it's a great looking vehicle: sleek, curvaceous, flamboyant and gaudy. I'm no expert on The Penguin but I guess it suits his character well.
