I was given this set for my birthday! I have been amazed by the level of detail, all the pieces, the challenging pieces and the size of the Mansion! I loved building it and this set (although a little expensive) is highly recommended.
Having also built the Mega Bloks Techno-Drone, this was a pleasure to build by comparison!Lego is incredible about bagging pieces by step and that attention to detail shows in the ginormous set. Although I believe the set I received was missing at least two pieces--which is no fault of Amazon's--and I had the pieces in my general collection. The roller coaster around the building moves. There are actual fun house mirrors. If you've seen Glam & Gore's Madly in Love video, this is the house they'd share. Now we're just trying to decide the best way to display it as both sides have so much to look at!Please note, this is not a set for young children. Not that they wouldn't enjoy it, but the box says 14+ for a reason. It is massive with nearly 3,500 parts and is a fairly involved build.
The LEGO Batman Movie The Joker Manor (70922) is an absolutely a piece of work that many will enjoy. There are a lot of little details inside the mansion but the main attraction here is the new roller coaster system that I'm sure will be implemented in a future LEGO Creator amusement part set that comes out during the summer.
So, ok, what's wrong with a massive playset? If you don't like it don't buy it, right? I guess, but when so many sets come out, and more large sets than ever before, it feels like LEGO either is showing that it's a toy just for the wealthy, or it's out of touch. I already felt like LEGO is putting out too many big sets, but at least all of them had good justifications for existing and had a market. With Joker Manor, it feels to me like they've gone a brick too far.
The Joker Manor is a sprawling set that's fun to build, even more fun to play, and looks fantastic on a shelf. Although it will stand out as the first set to include the new car and track system, it's also chockfull of recolours and returning elements that make it a worthwhile investment. And that's no joke!
We at The Brothers Brick think that there's a strong likelihood that LEGO will release a Creator rollercoaster set in the near future, but if you want to get your hands on the new system early and enjoy a surprisingly fun build as well, we definitely recommend 70922 Joker Manor not just to LEGO Batman or DC Super Heroes fans, but to LEGO builders more broadly. Wheeeeee!!!
