Although I am not a full pledged Simpsons fan, but through the release of these minifigures, I have learnt to appreciate them very much which make me felt pretty positive towards this entire new approach. On a very positive note, I totally enjoy the different forms of integration throughout my different LEGO Themes in my collection.
All figures and accesories were accounted for. Each figure came in it's own zip lock bag with very carefully opened original bag as well with everything that should come with them. Had one or two that were very faintly scuffed on the back side, but nothing bad, no printing messed up or nothing. I'm just SUPER detailed and noticed, most wouldn't, and wasn't enough for me to complain. Very happy with my purchase!
The printing and moulding of his headpiece are sublime, nailing all the right features such as Homer's stubble, receding hairline, wispy hairs at the top of his mostly bald head and round bulbous eyes. His attire is a little drab, just a plain white polo t-shirt with no back printing and sky blue pants. I wish they had included more details such as some back printing or even some donut speckles on his shirt, but at least we get a solitary curved line to indicate his beer belly as consolation. That being said, the minifigure is more or less true to his appearance in the TV show, so I can't fault it there.
Overall, the LEGO Minifigures – The Simpsons Series (71005) was better than I expected. LEGO did a great job in getting the various details of the characters in the minifigure designs. It was good to see that these minifigures aren't the same as the ones in the Simpsons House. LEGO stayed true to the cartoon series and the minifigures were well represented.
OKAY Lego i love you...you are amazing. Da Best. I know i am not the type of audience you were targeting for but this is one lego i am proud to say i collected. THE ONLY LEGO I AM PROUD TO SAY I HAD OWNED. Let me say the mini figures look amazing. You made Milhouse Van Houten actually look cool and dateable towards Lisa. That is something the TV couldn't even do. Congrats Lego. I think its great you had scratchy and itchy come out with the first season of the simpsons mini figures. My favorite two characters in whole show. (I really REALLY hope more are to come.) I will say this though when I watched the video of you making the mini figures it was worrying me of you messing it up but it turned out great!!...WAIT i take that back it turned out awesome. The Ones I Have Right Now: Lisa, Bart, Grandpa, Milhouse, Marge, Homer, 2 Ralphs, Krusty, Flanders, Wiggum, Scratchy, Lisa, Mr. Burns and 2 Nelsons. The Ones I NEED!!: Itchy and Apu The Ones I Wish For (Ones I Need To Complete My Life): Duffman (optional because legos are for mostly kids T~T), BumbleBee Man, Dr. Nick (Hey Everybody!), Fat Tony (fat people need love too. please for his unfortunate death ;(), SideShow Bob (I know he done some terrible stuff but everyone deserves or 1-10 chances to prove himself), Carl and Lenny (Homer needs his friends. I mean we all know what it feels like to be nagged at your wife every night from work), Moe (optional as well... *sigh* for the same reason as Duffman...) and the old man with the beard with the robotic seal :P. For the people who disagree with their decision, come on people most of us have watched the simpsons and we turned out awesome. Its not like they did lego sets of the cartoons kids sneak down to watch at late nights. I feel like simpsons is like the only cartoon both adults and kids can enjoy. Show sympathy for simpsons and the lego company please.
They're just okay. Pick them up if you're a fan, but I don't think you'll regret not getting them.
