Laser Mech

I bought this for my grandsons and they play with it all the time. When I bought it I thought they would be losing it all the time. But it is big enough so that when they set it down some where, it is noticeable. They haven't lost it yet but it has been played with a lot. more less

I've said this before, but LEGO has continued to step up their game with the Collectible Minifigures theme and Series 15 (71011) does not disappoint. There are some minifigures that are more sought after than others but I see every single one of them having a place somewhere in the LEGO universe and in many MOCed themes. more less

The parts assortment is pretty good. I find the parts are very good due to the inclusion of the newly designed mech wings. It has a nice silhouette on the trans-blue design with black lines to outline the shape. more less

So my overall thoughts are its a damn good series I think we only got 4 weak minifigures, the rest were high quality. My top 4 were the farmer, Animal Control Officer, shark suit guy and the wrestler. Each time you wonder what LEGO can come up with next and yet they continue to really impress me. I love new elements that can be used in my own creations and series 15 is packed with them. more less

I think the Laser Mech is one of the best minifigure Mechs that LEGO have ever designed, bolstered by his fantastic looking armour, body printing and overall design. I will definitely be picking up more than one of him, if I can get the blind bags at a discount. more less

I mentioned further up that I love classic space. Unfortunately, I don't feel any sort of attachment to this futuristic space that LEGO sometimes tries to shove into the various Collectible Minifigure Series. For me the Laser Mech is pretty much pointless - and his blue (laser?) sword is much too flimsy for my liking. more less

It is worth mentioning that there are five female figures here to the eleven males, which is a fairly standard ratio now even though there are plenty of opportunities to make it an even split. The handicap guy is something fans have responded to well, pairing well with the upcoming wheelchair figure. The Shark Guy is pretty fun. We get a couple of animals. Everyone has their favorites, though most of the popular figs come with large odds in favor of fans. Basically, there is a little of something here for everyone, which is the best thing to be said about any Collectible Minifigure Series. more less

Another fairly elaborate figure, with posable wings attached to a rather large shoulder piece. I'm sure this might get the juices going for some spacers, or maybe the robot fans out there, but it doesn't do anything for me personally. The head is interesting, with a waveform where the eyes should be. more less
