Astronaut

When I first saw the images for Series 15, there were a number of minifigures that I wanted...but perhaps none more so than the Astronaut. Once again, LEGO has done an excellent job of reminding me of my childhood - classic 1980s space stuff is how I got hooked on LEGO! Without the flag, this minifigure would have been pretty great...but with the classic space logo flag? This one's an instant hit! more less

I've said this before, but LEGO has continued to step up their game with the Collectible Minifigures theme and Series 15 (71011) does not disappoint. There are some minifigures that are more sought after than others but I see every single one of them having a place somewhere in the LEGO universe and in many MOCed themes. more less

The parts assortment is above average. I like this design very much and the parts are adequate to place the Astronaut for a space mission with his oxygen tank, helmet with golden visor and detailed prints on his torso and legs. The notable accessory is the introduction of the dual printed Classic Space flag. To me, that is a game changer. more less

So my overall thoughts are its a damn good series I think we only got 4 weak minifigures, the rest were high quality. My top 4 were the farmer, Animal Control Officer, shark suit guy and the wrestler. Each time you wonder what LEGO can come up with next and yet they continue to really impress me. I love new elements that can be used in my own creations and series 15 is packed with them. more less

I was very happy to add another astronaut to my Spaceport. This one does not have the full-on portable life support system that the astronauts from the Spaceport set have, but he still sports a pretty detailed spacesuit. The front is really nicely done with printing on the torso and legs, as well as on the arms and a little on the sides of the legs. more less

I love space themes and Legos. I never knew they made a nice looking astronaut minifigure but after playing Lego Worlds and searching the internet, I found this awesome guy and had to get him. He came in well packaged in all original packaging with all items. Had no scratches or other damages. He was perfect. more less

It is worth mentioning that there are five female figures here to the eleven males, which is a fairly standard ratio now even though there are plenty of opportunities to make it an even split. The handicap guy is something fans have responded to well, pairing well with the upcoming wheelchair figure. The Shark Guy is pretty fun. We get a couple of animals. Everyone has their favorites, though most of the popular figs come with large odds in favor of fans. Basically, there is a little of something here for everyone, which is the best thing to be said about any Collectible Minifigure Series. more less

A pretty cool space figure, not super exciting but nice enough. I like the fact that it's a more realistic NASA type decoration rather than something more sci-fi. The printed arms also make him a little more elaborate than your standard white spaceman. The gold visor also gives him that more retro feel. The printed classic space logo flag will certainly make all the spacers out there happy. more less
