This is the second minifigure that comes with an animal as an accessory, though I imagine the skunk is a less desirable animal to get in bulk as compared to the Farmer's pig. What really makes the Animal Control Officer great though is her printing. She's rocking a lovely short sleeve shirt complete with animal control badge (there's a raccoon on it) that I love. She also has a large net - though actually the net really isn't large enough to hold the skunk in any sort of believable way! Even so, I love this figure - another instant hit in my book.
I've said this before, but LEGO has continued to step up their game with the Collectible Minifigures theme and Series 15 (71011) does not disappoint. There are some minifigures that are more sought after than others but I see every single one of them having a place somewhere in the LEGO universe and in many MOCed themes.
The parts assortment is excellent. I don't recall seeing a large net before and strongly believed is a new accessory. The minifigure came with a brilliant alternate facial appearance which depict her uncomfortable look upon catching the skunk. The introduction of the brand new animal is the highlight to me. The skunk is well molded piece of animal with nice detailed printing that could clearly identified the looks of a skunk instead of a squirrel.
So my overall thoughts are its a damn good series I think we only got 4 weak minifigures, the rest were high quality. My top 4 were the farmer, Animal Control Officer, shark suit guy and the wrestler. Each time you wonder what LEGO can come up with next and yet they continue to really impress me. I love new elements that can be used in my own creations and series 15 is packed with them.
I really like the science and wildlife related Minifigures, and this one falls into that category. The Animal Control Officer comes in a nice little uniform. The design is only printed on the front of the torso, however. The legs have no front or back print, but they have side printing, which adds a little detail. She has a double-sided face, one side features a smile and the other is a grossed out look. She comes with a net and a skunk. The skunk is a really nice add on, and is a fairly unique piece as far as I know.
While the minifigure might be well designed, the adorable LEGO skunk steals the show! It's made in the same size and scale as the animals you get from Friends sets…although if you compare it with other LEGO animals such as dogs… this skunk is actually scarily huge.
It is worth mentioning that there are five female figures here to the eleven males, which is a fairly standard ratio now even though there are plenty of opportunities to make it an even split. The handicap guy is something fans have responded to well, pairing well with the upcoming wheelchair figure. The Shark Guy is pretty fun. We get a couple of animals. Everyone has their favorites, though most of the popular figs come with large odds in favor of fans. Basically, there is a little of something here for everyone, which is the best thing to be said about any Collectible Minifigure Series.
Another personal favorite, and not just for the first ever skunk (that wasn't a Chima character) but also because of her outfit. She has printed arms, and the legs are printed with seams down the sides, a subtle but effective job of giving her a realistic uniform. She's also got a double sided printed head with an expression you'll appreciate if you've ever had a close encounter with a skunk.
This series is shaping up quite nicely, with a broad range of excellent minifigs.
