Hula Lula

This entire series is an outstanding release with minor rant such as the repeated inclusion of Unikitty design. Overall, I would said this is quite a remarkable release including fulfilling the distribution ratio with 3 complete sets in a sealed box. This alone, is a huge winner to ensure the distribution spread is done appropriately. Furthermore, I also noted with the minifigure neck marking increased the tightness and grip of the head and neck. This is actually great for CMFs which was previously lacking. more less

Overall The LEGO Movie 2 Collectible Minifigures (71023) series is a pretty interesting one with a number of characters that you wouldn't really expect to see in one of the sets. My favorite one is probably the Giraffe guy as well as the Wizard of Oz crew which are some popular ones among fans. There are also some questionable inclusions such as Emmet and Unikitty. Do we really need another of their variants even though they have been heavily featured in the sets and Unikitty in her series from last year? more less

The first musician from what I presume is Lucy's Popular Band comes up next. She's LEGO's second foray into the world of Hula, though Lula is decidedly more 1950s nostalgia than even the still-Westernized version from CMF Series 3. Lula is dressed in a yellowish green dress with a pink leis. She's got a cloth skirt over a magenta swimsuit bottom, with a thin green line for sandals around the bottoms of the legs. more less

I found a few surprises looking through the set, especially with the UV: Bright Green seems to be particularly Bright. I wonder how other elements in this colour look?. Orange is inconsistent: some versions of Bright Orange Fluoresce, others do not. Likewise red: I have some fuselage elements joined together at home: some fluoresce, others don't! Some ‘Bright' colours don't seem to glow at all. Overall, it's a pretty diverse collection! more less

Hula Lula is presumably a tropical singer so wears a garland of pink flowers around her neck and her dress is decorated with matching floral designs which look delightful. The green fabric skirt appears to take inspiration from nature as well, including a tattered edge that loosely resembles foliage. more less
