This set, which is part of the LEGO NINJAGO Legacy series, is one of the best sets I have seen LEGO come out with. Although the ninja's outfits reflect Season 4: The Tournament of Elements of the LEGO Ninjago TV series, the vehicles originate from Season 3: Rebooted. Featuring five minifigures, including the exclusive characters Legacy Tournament Jay and Legacy Tournament Cole, it is good for expanding one's minifigure collection. The Thunder Raider itself is a great tank, complete with opening cockpit, fold-down flaps with missiles attached, and 16-count treads. The Earth Mech is also amazing, with missile-shooting arms, jointed legs, a minifigure harness, and the unique ability to latch on to the rear of the Thunder Raider for fast traveling. For the price, it more than satisfies. With fantastic play possibilities, this is one set you want to acquire before the websites post the “sold out" signs.
This is a great kit! The high piece count makes this one more of a challenge. My daughter (almost 8) has been working on this one for a total of about 3 hours, and she is nearing completion. She is a Lego fanatic, so the time to completion may vary based on age and experience. The instructions are great, and if you have a kiddo who gets distracted easily you can put together the various toys one at a time and take play breaks. We love this one - another fun kit from Lego!
