Lloyd Avatar - Arcade Pod

I have all three of these arcade sets, and the arcade on this one actually has a different design (just barely in the top ear details), which makes it a little more unique. I think these little sets are worth the ten bucks for the two mini figs and the playability/customization. There are many weapons and the mini figs are interchangeable. There are also lots of stickers so you can customize your arcade set. I don't really know the backstory of this particular set and the changing into a video game arcade, but it's kind of cool anyway. more less

The way these look when folded up for storage is awesome, and the clever implementation of the storage areas is to be applauded. The figures themselves look great and come with neat accessories that really bring out the best of the Ninjago line and this particular iteration of the characters. more less

The Lloyd Avatar - Arcade Pod is an excellent little set with many play abilities and display options. This pod encompasses numerous weapon accessories and two minifigures: Digi Lloyd and exclusive Avatar Lloyd. While Digi Lloyd is quite common among Prime Empire sets, Avatar Lloyd is only available in this set, so once this pod is gone, Avatar Lloyd is, too. Avatar Lloyd is a surprisingly detailed minifigure, with his golden mohawk and pants (for the one-time Golden Ninja), open green hoodie and half mask, and a detailed and brand-new face piece, which features pixelation that resemble a goatee and shaved sideburns. As for the pod, it is styled to look like an old arcade cabinet, just like Jay's and Kai's, but this one is green, has golden dragon detailing on the sides, and golden pieces on the top different from the other aforementioned pods. Lloyd's Arcade Pod is extremely popular and will probably run out of stock fast, so I would recommend grabbing this one before it disappears altogether. more less

With two minifigures, a cool (albeit difficult to repurpose) arcade cabinet, and a plethora of weapons, these small sets feel like a solid buy at $9.99 USD. They might have slightly less play value than the rip-cord spinners and flyers of previous Ninjago themes, but kids love containers that let them take their favorite characters with them on the go. Adult fans might find them a bit less enticing, but they do serve as a relatively inexpensive way to get your hands on a number of cool new elements like the game controller. And as far as minifigure pods go, there's no denying these are way cooler than the round pods that LEGO's produced before. more less

LEGO has produced various collectable packs during recent years but the Arcade Pods are notably distinctive and 71716 Lloyd Avatar - Arcade Pod looks great. I like this green colour scheme and the decorative stickers, although printing would have been even better. Moreover, the concept of placing minifigures inside to represent their transition from NINJAGO into the digital world is effective. more less

For cheap, impulse buys all these sets are great, especially if you like minifigures. Cole's Car (the 4+ set) is a fun little build that has great playbility and is a cheap way to get that great looking Hausner Minifigure. The Arcade Pods offer a unique part, that some MOC designers may relish the challenge of repurposing. I do recommend all these sets, especially if you have young kids. more less

Although they offer minimal building, I love the new arcade cabinet shell and how all the elements can be contained within it. Of course the main draw has to be the Minifigures. The Digi-ninja can be found in other sets, but their avatars are exclusive to the Arcade Pods. more less
