You really can't go wrong with the Microfighters series. This one I got after the 3rd series whas been out for some time, but it stands up to the more recent releases in build design, quality and value. The Droid unit is just the top dome, but that's OK, you couldn't fit two whole figures in this fighter. The front halves of the missiles(?) on the corners of the wings tend to get knocked off, a design flaw that is probably unavoidable given the pieces available and the model's requirements. Might be worth hot-gluing in or removing altogether to prevent them getting lost.
I get why Lego wants these, since they are making toys, and the planets sets were never good toys. But as a collector, these are all pretty much a one-and-done for me.
As a longtime Star Wars fan, I really like this little set. At $10 for 97 pieces, I feel like it's a good value and that I got my money's worth. From just looking at the pictures, it was my favorite of the Microfighters, but I'm also hoping they come out with some new designs next year that continue to improve upon the theme. If you're a Star Wars fan, or are looking for something to decorate your desk, you can't go wrong here!
