In the end, this set ended up being a genuine surprise. It's hard to call value on it being mostly droids, but really, at just $3 more than the battle packs, I'd lump it into that same value. It gives genuine army-builder ability and encourages some re-purchases with the base, shooter, and the ideas behind it. more less

To be honest this set should be called extended droid battlepack since it is exactly that - battlepack with 1 extra figure and 1 extra vehicle. Its overpriced for 4 droids that we get everywhere. more less

It's a lovely idea for a set, good fun to play with and good for building up your armies. It's perhaps a tad overpriced, as I stated at the beginning, but I still recommend picking it up before it disappears from store shelves. more less

This set is essentially an upgraded battle pack with the added feature of a target practice playset. This is currently the cheapest set to get the spring-loaded shooter, which is one of the coolest bricks that Lego has released. The speeder is well-designed with the skis/fins contributing to the more dynamic look of the model. The olive green grass stems are exclusive to this set, and it's useful in many creations that need foliage. If only the set had more than one unique minifig, then it would make this a true gem. more less
